Difference Between Authority And Power
• AUTHORITY is dependent on the law. Hence a law enforcement officer (e.g. Police) that may not be physically POWERful, has AUTHORITY to enforce the law just by the AUTHORITY vested on the uniform.
• POWER goes beyond the AUTHORITY vested in the uniform, to a sense of personal physical and/or mental strength possessed by the individual (e.g. Soldiers).
